CONFLICT
CONFLICT is a battle of interests where everyone wants to resolve the dispute in their own favor. But not always your partner is ready to hear you. More often he tries to convince you to accept his point of view. We enter into conflict due to the fact that we are different: in our characters, habits, and we can also belong to different social and age groups. But it is important to remember that your opponent’s opinion has is important as well.
For many people, the word “conflict” is associated with negative emotions. But this is a distorted view created by society. In fact, conflict only shows inconsistency between people. And it is not good or bad.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
In conflict, as a rule, emotion dominates, not logical thinking. You need to speak only from the position of yourself, from your own name – “I”, “me”, for example: “It hurts me when you say this to me.” It is disrespectful to say ugly words towards your oponent during a conflict, and to start “inforamal conversation” like “you are stupid”, it can be replaced with “it is difficult for me to explain this to you, and I am angry”.
The conflict was created not to offend, but to understand each other. We always speak from the position of “I…” and not “you…”. By starting a conflict with “you…”, we attack our partner and he starts thinking about how to protect himself from us, instead of listening to our arguments. In a state of aggression, we stop hearing the other person.
If you feel angry and irritated, try to SLOW DOWN and look at the conflict through the “eyes” of your opponent and the “eyes” of an independent observer.
In the process of conflict, it is important to be aware of your emotions and experience them at the moment of listening to yourself, what is controlling you now – fear, resentment or anger. By saying this out loud to our partner, we free ourselves from it.
Being in conflict, allow any emotion to be, but being aware of what is happening with you in that moment. Banning an emotion blocks the release of energy and leads to physical illness. Being with your emotions in right way supports our internal balance and makes us feel good.
Always talk about the current problem and do not mention what happened in previous years, otherwise you will go into the past in the conversation – and the conflict will never be resolved
It is important to resolve the conflict alone without outsiders. If it is not possible to deal with the conflict on your own, and the conflicts are constantly repeated, you can always seek help from a specialist.
Why it is useful to argue
We get known each other better and we reveal each other’s true needs, so always say what offends you and do it in a friendly way.
